The building is located in Nea Penteli, a pine-wooded area with a steep slope, in a typical suburban fabric. It is located on a central avenue, but at the same time in proximity to the border of the settlement and the beginning of the mountain.

The proposed building is designed to accommodate the needs and desires of a family of four. Characteristics of an urban everyday life meet with the desire for a more relaxed, outward-looking and outdoor life that will take place, even during the winter months.

These desires were first organized through the study of the relationship of the dwelling with the ground and then, through the elaboration of the building volume to reinvent the relationship with the ground, the sun, the shade and the exterior space.

The positioning of the building on the plot was dictated by the morphology of the terrain and the entrance level. A base is created that carries all the ancillary spaces of the building (storage, parking, rainwater harvesting, mechanical equipment) and produces the level where everyday life takes place. The base resists to the inclination of the ground, creating the single flat field on which the volume of the dwelling is placed. This volume is governed by geometric rules of mass subtraction and sculpting to reduce the depth of the building, to allow light to enter and to achieve visual and physical contact with the surrounding area. The final form is nothing more than the reception or protection from light, a description of the gaze seeking to penetrate the mass. A shadow, sometimes shallow, imprinted on the building, sometimes deep, inhabitable and alive.
